Hypothetically speaking.....
If a person was to get investors, or was independently wealthy themself, set up their own operation(RI with everything that entails), and then hand you the keys to run it as you saw fit, would THAT be the ideal situation?

Probably additional crash testing. When JK did the original petition. They made it very difficult to merely copy what they did.

And please... just say - Sean....Mr... makes me feel older than I am....

Florida places do some shady stuff.... Shady , shady... just be careful.....

I am already out on my own... no wonder I am so broke. I have assets but no real day to day cash. Money is a good thing....

No . The Modified article is just that - an article. The guy wrote it actually , without ever talking to me the first time. Sent it to me , we talked a little . Sometimes I handle some PR type responsibities at RB. Victor handles some other stuff. Maybe David just wanted to use my name...

At Motorex - my name showed up a few times also....

How did an R34 end up in Road and Track ? I called Sam Mitani. How did they end up in Sport Compact Car ? How did the R33 end up in Fast and Furious ? R34 in Fast and Furious 2 ?

Whats it going to take ? Right about now - just money. For the longest time - I didnt want to do it because , I didnt feel right about it. I still had a lot of loyalty. I wasn't going to use information I had against Motorex. It is ending up to be the only choice I have. They aren't legalizing cars , things are not getting done. I want to see them done , but unless someone does it , its not going to happen. That someone , so far has only been Hiro . I started helping Hiro with this back in 1997.... I lost track of it until later in 1998. By April 1999 I had gone and started to work with Hiro to help him out. I was sick of working for my father , and it was a nice change of pace.

When I started it was Hiro , Kurtis , and myself. Within a month or so Kurtis left. Then it was just Hiro and myself. We - as in I recommended we hire Ken to handle the parts. We then hired Justin - a customer to be a helper.

You know - when someone broke into the shop - and rammed down the overhead door - Victor and myself spent the night at Motorex with a 12 gage and a Glock. Gardena is not the best area , and with no door , and no company that would come out till the morning - someone had to stay and keep other things from getting stolen.

I built Big Bird , and raced it on a shoestring budget. Mostly paid out of my pocket. Some of it was reinbursed , but not all of it. The only reason that car ever even ended up out of XS was because I wanted it to. I took it on , put it back together , and ran it. I begged , borrowed , or stole everything for that car. First US car in the 10's . When I went to the races , no one else from Motorex even showed up. It was always nice to get support from people within your company at a race. XS would show up with their whole shop and a support rig. I show up by myself with a car. I still beat XS's RX-7 every time I lined up against it.

I was cool with everyone there until I started to help Jack try and get some of his money back. Hiro just walked all over him , and continues to do the same thing to him. 19 cars later , 6 still at Motorex....

So what would it take then? A chunk of dough to re-crashtest a 32, 33, and 34 (or just one of them for now) to get a new VCP # for the cars?

Yup...car's...still there.....still there.....
I started calling Motorex in 2000....2 years before I shipped it back. That's what kind of person I am. I have to make sure everything is planned for...and everything goes according to plan. Here I am, six months short of 5 years later......Damn. It pisses my wife off to no end how patient I've been. She laughed when I finally became angry enough to call Hiro in Japan at 4:00 in the morning and give him an earful to find out why my car wasn't ready.....

On your request...good luck. You certainly won't get a call back. Hiro is "out of the country" until the 1st. Sure...he'll talk the game with you....but will you actually get any pay? I don't think so. Check's in the mail, man......

Okay SEAN (I don't feel right calling you by your first name....I'd call you Petty Officer or Chief if I knew which).....
That was seriously all I really wanted to know. That kinda gives me another angle to work with when I am in Florida....I know some shady stuff goes on down there, that's why I'm going to go and lay my eyes on everything.....
There is one potential I have down there, and the dough might be big enough to bite. I've got a very exciting idea that I'm going to pitch to this person, but will update everyone as this becomes prudent (or fails to manifest, whichever the case may be).
Who knows, Sean Morris, we may become collegues after all----I hope so.

First off . If sometime in the future , the cars become legal. I will help you sell cars. Legal cars. Wether though Motorex or where ever. If you find someone to get legal cars , I have people that want to buy cars. As long as everyone can make something off the deals , its all good.

From the start at Motorex , we tried to get places to sell cars for us. You figure a couple shops around the country . Each maybe selling a car a month or so , and the business will be fine. People are a lot more likely to sell something they can see. We wanted shops / car dealers /whoever to have a demo car , they could use the Motorex name , and sell cars.

It never turned out like this. Motorex was making plenty of money on the legalization and cars , so as long as they could keep it going , doing a few cars every month. Everyone would have had enough money to play.

As far as other stuff - I was an E5 when I got out. I did 6 years in. At A School I was top of my class so they offered me C School and auto advancement to E4. I took it , and C School , where I was also top of my class. But I didnt get anymore school , or another paygrade out of that. But I did get first pick on orders. I took a FFG in San Diego. By the time I got to the boat , I had nearly enough TIR to take the test for E5. Took E5 test , made E5 first time. So most of the time on the ship , I was an E5. Kind of a good place to be. Somewhere in the middle. Dont have to do all the crap jobs. Don't have to do too much paperwork. Just before I got out I had enough TIR to take the test for E6 . I got out before the results came out. I was 23 when I got out of the Navy. Been out for 7 years now...

Never leave a shipmate.... that time in Thailand - the two strippers wanted to go out dancing after the club.... with a pocketfull of money -and a shipmate , passed out on the table from too much Thai lemonade.... Damn ET's.....

Would flying out to CA and punching Hiro in the face work?

My patience meter is almost at 0.

well, there's that.. and then you could save the price of the ticket, and contract with me for all public (and private) beatings.. I could probably make a pretty penny out of this business for a little while anyways

A disturbing thought, for those who have paid deposits...unfortunately, hitting right on the mark it seems...

Sean, are you telling us that Motorex has only legalized 13 cars since inception? What is the breakdown (32's,33's and 34's)?

Thanks!

No - not 13.... near 100 cars or so. Mostly R33's , then R32's , about 12 R34's.

Oh, OK! I misread your post above where you talked about Hiro walking all over a guy. 100 cars in 7 years isnt great, but it is 100 more skylines in the U.S. than would have been here without that service.

I hate to ask, but is there even a possibility of getting an R34 legalized in the future, or is that one set in stone? (Please dont stone me, I am a hopeful sort!)

Thanks!

Hey Sean, do you have a reputable person in Japan that could help me locate a car? I currently am stationed here and want to buy a BNR34 before I leave for Germany in a couple months. I was emailing Tsukasa Matsumoto at W-A auto, but havent heard back from him in a while, so I was curious if you knew anyone.

Thanks,
Shawn

What if you get a board of investors? if you could get a few people with decient capital, that turns into a lot of money. Perhaps you could recruit several businesses around the country who would like to supply these cars, and draw up a proposal where they help finance the testing in return for some chunk of the pie? heck, everyone on this board could take a personal loan and we could do it...if you want somthing so bad, and the only one holding the keys to the kingdom is screwing around like this...why not forge your own path?

Don't drop the idea, I think you guys are on to something.
I'm with a wholesale lender and I'm in! I already have a R32, and would like to add the R33 and R34 to complete the GTR collection.

Concentrate on the R34. Its where the money is...

All its going to take is time and money.

I have the resources to get it done.
