kia ora Jess,
Well done, OK girls n guys now there is somewhere to go on a regular basis to have fun in your car, if you think your cars fit enough to go hard then bear in mind these things, 1, A locked diff is not mandatory, your mint as tight LSD will fail at Slipway, your shimmed up LSD will take a little longer. 2, Your cooling system will be tested on this tight section. 3, You skills will increase heaps if you stick at it. 4, Last but not least MAX FUN will prevail. We will be there with a few cars to help anyone that wants it, be it car setup or driving tips, or if you just want to chat about Drifting in NZ Cheers :-D

Here's a video of the "Cones" "C" Class course. It is not as easy as it looks, but fun all the same.

A great day out, very well organised including the weather. I hope the advice was useful for those who asked, if in doubt just ask, we're only too keen to help. Keen to get more people up to slipway and off the streets.
see you all at the next round!!!

WOW
What an Event! Thanks HEAPS to everyone for their support once again, most of all big thanks to the DRIFT INC Crew - we love you guys long time. What a great day! So many drivers keen to learn, was awesome to see such a range of different cars out there - including the lonely Altezza, good stuff! NEXT TIME - i am hoping my car will be done, but I fully doubt it with the rate we're going at the moment. Its literally a plug and tune thats needed and its just taking forever to arrange......! We'll see in August anyways lol THANKS EVERYONE!!!!!! P.S - Pics will be sent to drivers once theyr done |

29 May 2010
Kia ora,
Just a quick note to all interested parties, there is a learners day coming up at Slipway Drifting Facility here in Wellington, for details and bookings see Catch My Drift on Facebook. This is an event held on a regular basis that has been running for just over 12 months, we have had many people come to the event to learn, improve and sharpen their skills in a relaxed atmosphere with current D1NZ Competition drivers from Drift Inc available to assist and share the knowledge gained from our experience, we have been drifting since 2004 and have a team of 6 drivers at various levels. We are very keen to see this event continue and grow, and keen to bring an intermediate level event to cater to all those who have improved their skills to give more challenge to the Drifting experience. On a typical event day we are there observing all drivers and are there to provide tutoring in-car (yours) or discussion on how to improve in specific areas of your driving. We bring along one or two of our competition cars to take learners around the track so you will get the feel of how and what you should be doing to get the best out of your time at Slipway. With the help from our Sponsors we can also make recommendations based on our combined experience on all aspects of car control, from tyre and suspension setup to engine and transmission choice and tuning options. The Basics you should consider to have a fun and enjoyable experience at Catch My Drift 1. Rear wheel drive car 2. Manual transmission 3. Locked diff 4. Spare Fuel 5. Lots of tyres 6. A willingness to learn 7. A willingness to ask questions A couple of other things to think about. • Make sure your car is running in a good state of tune • Make sure all water and oil lines are in good condition and not leaking A few track rules to be adhered to • No static burnouts on the tarmac • No dogs • No alcohol
